IED was founded in 1993 as a company providing solutions to industrial sectors, offering innovation capabilities through electronics. Headquartered in Navarra (Spain) and with subsidiaries in India, China, and the USA, IED is currently an essential player in sectors facing new challenges, thanks to its design, engineering, and manufacturing capacity for solutions combining electronics with adjacent technologies stemming from Artificial Intelligence, digitalization, and innovation in other areas such as batteries or material technology. IED’s products are present on all five continents and in all oceans through its activities in sectors including wind energy, solar energy, machinery, agriculture, among others.

IED has been supplying products for agronomic applications since approximately 2010, with anemometers, vanes, and electronic controllers being its main products. In 2023, IED strengthened its commitment to the agricultural sector and defined a work plan to increase its value proposition to the field. In 2024, IED launched its GERBIL soil moisture probe to the market. 

IED is affiliated with various associations and participates in different initiatives with the firm purpose of contributing to achieving objectives of high interest to society.
