Monitoring humidity in vineyards with GERBIL

From ITAP we have received these photos about an interesting project they are working on, related to ground covers in vineyards. Their aim is to compare soil moisture in the crop line and in the covered part, assessing its impact on water management and vineyard sustainability.

To do this, they have installed GERBIL moisture probes, specifically the reference 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗶𝗹 𝟰.𝟬𝟰 𝗦𝗗𝗜𝟭𝟮 𝗦𝗼𝗶𝗹 𝗠𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿, equipped with 4 sensors spaced every 10 cm, with the deepest sensor at 40 cm. This configuration allows them to obtain accurate data at different soil levels and to better understand how moisture varies according to vegetation cover.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗕𝗜𝗟?

✅𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Makes it easy to measure at different depths with simple installation.
✅ 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆: Provides reliable data to optimise irrigation management.
✅ 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴: Ideal for evaluating water conservation strategies in woody crops such as vines.

‘We consider it to be a very versatile and well-performing piece of equipment.’

Thanks to ITAP for sharing their experience! We will remain attentive to the progress of this interesting project.
